Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Watch ID (“Watch ID,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the App.

Watch ID is provided by Chengdu Nebula Scroll Technology Co. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

Watch ID may collect or process the following categories of information depending on how you use the App.

1.1 Watch Photos

When you use the watch identification feature, you may take or submit one or more watch photos. These photos are used to analyze the watch and generate identification, valuation, rarity, and related watch information.

Photos may contain visual information such as the watch dial, caseback, bracelet, strap, surrounding background, reflections, or other visible details. Please avoid including faces, personal documents, addresses, payment cards, or other sensitive information in photos.

1.2 AI Analysis Results

The App may generate and process watch analysis results, including:

  • Whether the image appears to show a watch;
  • Brand, collection, model name, and reference number;
  • Detected dial text;
  • Estimated secondary-market price range;
  • Rarity score and rarity level;
  • Origin, material, diameter, water resistance, movement or caliber-related information;
  • Image quality assessment;
  • Short descriptive watch story or notes.

These results are generated automatically and may be inaccurate.

1.3 Collection Data Saved on Your Device

If you choose to save a watch to your collection, Watch ID may store collection data locally on your device, including:

  • Saved AI result data;
  • Brand name and normalized brand key;
  • Collection name, model name, and reference number;
  • Currency and estimated price range;
  • Average estimated price;
  • Rarity level, rarity label, and rarity score;
  • A thumbnail image of the watch;
  • Date and time the item was saved.

This information is used to show your watch collection, filter by brand, sort by date or estimated value, and calculate collection summaries.

1.4 Usage Limit Data

Watch ID may store limited usage data on your device, such as the date of your last successful free identification and the number of successful free identifications used that day. This is used to enforce the daily free identification limit for non-subscribers.

1.5 Subscription Information

If you purchase Watch ID Pro, subscription status is processed through Apple’s StoreKit and App Store systems. We may receive information needed to determine whether your subscription is active, expired, revoked, pending, restored, or unavailable.

We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple.

1.6 Camera Permission

Watch ID requests camera access so you can capture watch photos for identification. Camera access is used only when you choose to use the camera feature.

You can manage camera permission in iOS Settings.

1.7 App Usage, Diagnostics, and Device Information

Watch ID includes Firebase services that may process technical, diagnostic, app integrity, analytics, device, and usage-related information. This may include information such as app version, device model, operating system version, language, country or region, installation identifiers, session information, app interactions, crash or performance-related information, and security attestation data.

The exact data processed may depend on Firebase configuration, Apple platform behavior, and the Firebase services enabled in the App.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide watch identification and AI analysis;
  • Generate estimated watch information, rarity, and valuation references;
  • Save and display your watch collection when you choose to save results;
  • Enforce free usage limits and provide subscription access;
  • Process purchases and restore subscriptions through Apple;
  • Improve app reliability, performance, security, and user experience;
  • Prevent abuse, fraud, unauthorized access, and misuse of the App;
  • Respond to support requests;
  • Comply with legal, platform, and App Store requirements.

3. AI Processing and Third-Party Services

Watch ID uses Firebase AI Logic and Google/Gemini-related services to provide AI-powered watch analysis. When you submit photos for identification, your photos and related request data may be sent to Google/Firebase services for processing. The AI service returns generated output that the App displays to you.

Firebase AI Logic itself may not store data, but the selected Gemini API provider may have its own retention and processing practices. Your use of Watch ID’s AI features means that submitted photos and generated outputs may be processed by these third-party services to provide the feature.

4. Apple Services

Purchases, free trials, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and subscription management are handled by Apple through your Apple ID and the App Store.

Apple may process payment, subscription, device, account, and transaction information according to Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. We do not control Apple’s data processing.

5. Firebase and Analytics

Watch ID uses Firebase services, which may include Firebase Core, Firebase Analytics, Firebase App Check, and Firebase AI Logic.

Firebase may process data to provide analytics, app integrity checks, AI access, fraud prevention, diagnostics, and service operation. Firebase App Check may process device or app attestation material and tokens to help verify that requests come from a legitimate app instance.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use watch photos to identify people.

6. Local Storage

Some Watch ID data is stored locally on your device, including saved collection items, thumbnails, onboarding status, and free identification usage counters.

Local data may remain on your device until you delete it in the App, remove the App, or erase your device. If your device backup includes app data, local data may also be included in your device backup depending on your Apple/iCloud settings.

7. Data Sharing

We may share or process data with the following categories of third parties:

  • Apple, for App Store purchases, subscription management, refunds, and platform services;
  • Google/Firebase, for AI analysis, analytics, app integrity, diagnostics, and infrastructure;
  • Service providers, if needed for support, hosting, security, or legal compliance;
  • Authorities or legal parties, if required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not sell your watch photos or collection data.

8. Data Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer period is required by law, security needs, dispute resolution, or platform requirements.

Local collection data is retained on your device until you delete the item, delete the App, or otherwise remove the data from your device.

Third-party services such as Apple and Google/Firebase may retain data according to their own policies and service terms.

9. Deleting Your Data

You can delete saved watch collection items in the App where deletion is available. You can also delete local WatchID data by removing the App from your device.

For subscription cancellation, you must manage your subscription through your Apple ID account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel an active subscription.

  • Disable camera access in iOS Settings;

13. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no app, network, device, or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for keeping your device, Apple ID, and device passcode secure.
